Life Is Uncertain...

The world of aviation was stunned this past week by the events surrounding flight SQ006. A convergence of mistakes, human errors and extreme weather took a deadly toll.
A comment summed up the irony."Singapore Airline does not have the
experience of handling tragedy. I had a flashback to the late 70s when MAS suffered a tragic  mid-air explosion in Malaysia. On TV I saw grieving friends and relatives. One particular face rang a bell.

Previously I saw the lady at an Octoberfest celebration at the then Regent Hotel amidst much laughter and gaiety.Next she is grieving a personal loss in a most public medium.
I searched through the list at the SQ website  looking for any familiar names, a friend, a business associate or a client. Thank God we are reading this.

Suddenly my recent injury, my child failing her driving test, another breaking up with her boyfriend and my Ford SUV recuperating in  auto bodyshop all pale into insignificance.
I could only hope those suffering find solace somewhere. Personally I am comforted by the words in Ecclesiates 3:2

To lighten up - life's  imponderables:
Q2. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?

Q3. Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Q4. When you travel at the speed of light, what happens when you switch on
the headlights?

Q5. Why do we ask these inane questions?  Ha Ha

Signs of Life?

1.Billboard at US/Canada border :Drink Canada Dry!

2.Farmer's notice: It is free to cross the field but the bull will charge.

3.Washroom reminder: Management aims to please. You please aim.

Note: Canada Dry is a brand of ginger ale lest you think North Americans drink like a fish!

Start The Week Laughing...

Two business partners, Jack and Anthony, head out for their usual 9 holes of golf. Jack offers Anthony a bet. "Let's say we bet $50."

Anthony agrees and they're off.
They have a great game. After the 8th hole, Anthony is ahead by one stroke, but cuts his ball into the rough on the 9th.
"Help me find my ball. Look over there," he said to Jack.

After a few minutes, neither have any luck and a lost ball carries a four point penalty, Anthony pulls a ball from his pocket and tosses it to the ground. "I've found my ball!" he announced.
Jack looked at him and said, "After all of the years we've been partners and playing together, you'd cheat me out of a lousy fifty bucks?
"What do you mean, cheat? I found my ball sitting right there!"

"And you're a liar, too!" Jack said. "I'll have you know I've been STANDING on your ball for the last five minutes!"
